I hired a van, loaded my stuff near single handidly while my friends sat and watched TV (thanks for that) and got it in, the whole process was a 3 hour hire and set me back about $100 after insurance was factored in. I still don't know if I'm a chump getting insurance or not. Either way I'm in. Well, except for some laundry, cheese, shaving stuff and spices.
I didn't sleep there last night. After hanging out with Seb I ended up just too tired to do the 20 min treck home, so seeing as the RA hadn't checked me out yet I just crashed in my old empty room.
This decision was made easy by the fact I haven't put my bed together and I have a gut feeling that with the metal cracked it's going to collapse as soon as I hop on it. It's going to require some creative thinking to make it safer and plan A was taken away by someone taking the beer crates from under my old-old place. Is there anything beer can't fix?
The fridge in our kitchen is a cringe worthy joke. Amongst the mould, lack of shelves, it has a exercise band to hold the door shut. The freezer has one less shelf than the frigde which gives the whole unit a total of one shelf. This of course means you need to look out for a frozen food avalanche. Classic really.
It is also kind of concerning that there seems to be a mass exodus from the flat. Well two have moved out this weekend, another moves out when the lease is up. I do hope that it isn't for a reason I'll find out soon enough. Either way my room is huge and my lack of furniture makes it feel even bigger.
My address is now 47 Aurora Terrace, Kelburn, Wellington, 6021 for all those that care.
