Washington D.C

Well I suppose I should update a bit. We went to Washington D.C in the wee hours of the morning and it took about 5 hours to get there. We had my first experience of deadlock just outside of Harrisburg as a truck had a bit of a prang on the highway, which made no sense as conditions had been perfect and these roads are straight as can be.

D.C was a city that was pedestrian friendly, we had from mid day till about 6:45pm to check out as much as we could and Washington has a lot of things to see within walking distance. We saw the Smithsonian, Capital Building, White House, Lincoln monument etc and I never realised how close they were to each other. The buildings look rather impressive, with giant columns. We did manage to trip an alarm at the white house. For some reason there is a big red button below a map right outside the gate. Big red buttons with no sign should not be left un-pushed I guess.

It turns out we left an Australian behind and had no way of finding him, but it was later revealed he was a jerk and went to Virgina on a whim to go see his cousin and didn't bother to tell anyone, despite being asked before we got off to tell anyone if we weren't coming home. Australia represent I guess.

I have the photos from D.C on here so I'll try and upload them tonight.
