Sorry about the lack of updates. It's really been out of my control. I had no internet over the weekend at the hotel and Monday it wasn't working; Tuesday the power was off and today I thought I was locked out of the room.
I had one class on Friday then the next morning I caught the last Marshooka (Totally spelling that wrong) out of Dodge and to Batumi. The problem being is that with the start of the school year comes grubby little children who give me their germs; I got the flu. It kind of put a damper on the whole weekend really. Again, we didn't do much, just caught up with some different people and some of the same. It really felt like months since I've seen people. This whole place stretches time; forever passes and it's only been less than a week. I'm hoping the days will blur by, but I figure I have around under 2000 hours to serve now...but who's counting?
Two of the Adjara mountain men have managed to leave and get relocated to the city. They were way out in the sticks and one of them returned home from last weekend to find that they had done heavy renovations and removed the running water. I'm happy that they've been moved to better places, they really deserved better, but at the same time I'm also really jealous. It wouldn't be so bad if there was a road that went North, so I didn't have to go to Batumi to go anywhere.
And in other news my 11 year old BFF is back from the European chess tournament. She didn't progress further, but out of 53 girls in her age group she placed 10th. Not a bad effort really. I've also learned how to say I want/I don't want. It doesn't really help as they keep saying eat and doing the hand actions. The foods okay, but I question the nutritional value of eating foods almost solely based from flour.
Oh well, class time.
