Yesterday ended pretty badly. It had a combination of sun stroke and an upset stomach; I guess the change in diet and the early adoption of switching from bottled to tap water started to catch up with me. I guess the foresight of having some medicine with me was well warranted. But if yesterday was bad, this morning was worse.

I rang our program coordiantior Nino and asked her if the meeting with the Minister of Education and Science was mandatory. She said it was, but when I told her I had a fever she had me set up after check out to go to the doctors.

After that I had to make an effort to muster some strength to actually sit up and pack. I also went straight to house keeping, rather than the bilingal receptionists and asked for a vacuum cleaner for my vacuum seal bags. "Vacuum?" got no response, but my kick ass vacuum impression got it straight away. I figure if I don't pick up the language soon I'll at least become awesome at sherades.

Armed with two helpers and a driver and soon I was off with another kid who wasn't feeling well. They took me to a hospital, met two doctors, had more blood taken and got an ultrasound taken and proded all round the place by both doctors, well not all round the place. They had me worried for a second when the first doctor gave me a thermometer and stopped me from putting in my mouth; back home I only know of two places they go and they just eliminated one of them. Luckily it turns out that they put it under the armpit.

After that we went to another clinic, met two more doctors and even even had one of the consults with me, the doctor, my two helpers, the driver and the other sick kid watching me lift my shirt up and take deep breaths. After that it was back to the first hospital for the pharmacy. Drugs in a bag later I'm back at the hotel where everyone was waiting for us, but it also turned out some missing luggage turned up so I wasn't holding up the show.

We headed West half an hour and stopped for lunch. It was a massive table and they just kept bringing out food, most of it I wasn't allowed to eat as they want me on basic foods. After that is was back on the bus and the 90+ were on our way to the training facility in Kutaisi. The building is a dorm style and I'v been given the only single because of the fever, but at this point I feel much better. There's no internet, which is why you'll be getting these in batches.

But the whole experience today was amazing, it really shows they're pulling out all the stops for us. My helper was getting my tests fast tracked and getting us ahead in line due to our schedule; I guess being the presidents pet project gets you some priority.

Yeah I forgot to write since then, but so far it's been a few days and I've found about death and earthquakes, which luckily weren't connected. They've got me to stop taking the medicine because I felt feverish from taking it and would miss my morning Language class. So now I'm feeling a lot better. The days are long and there's a lot to take in from the classes, but we kill our free time the best we can. I try and teach people to throw a rugby ball and I even went AMA and got a beer last night so I didn't feel like a social lepper. Some of the Americans are getting shit faced and destroying our fragile toilets. Stay classy America.

Anyways it's morning and I want to shower and shave before I'm late to the meeting.
